lyrics
Deployed from Mother Crown a perfect single ship contains the spiral architect. At dawn the time is now! - expatiating seed, we can clearly see as new-born beings - our foreign eyes. Incomprehensible to see each cell. Methodically we break down All to build upon the ground -- centered in the earth, like a tree root reversed. Not of this world.
Eye to eye. Point to line. Chord to triad. Four winds of the sky. Crack the gate. Fractal out and gather back. A black dot at the center of seeing -- focused through a single eye with ferocious certainty. A one-dimensional being … Is not alone! - two single i’s racing to meet - an explosion of love; a time-lapse flower; a single cell division : over and over… Creation and recreation; over and over. Upheaval and respiration; over and over.
Echo location, the fourth dimension: this continuum swims through time. Triangulation, multi-faceted perspective: gives rise to depth of field. The razor’s edge, the path of paradox: is, is not; phasual dichotomy. A single point, a mote of dust. A black dot in an endless pool of white light. A pupil focus - through a single i. One dimension.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
