There’s no way you’re gonna bury this mountain, no matter what you try. We stand tall as an aberration, our will is fortified. There’s no rule when there’s nothing proven, you can’t believe your eyes. There’s no proof when there’s nothing certain, when all you know is lies. The madness invades and builds to a scream. Steel your mind, resist it. A life in the thrall will lead to decay. Fill your heart, defy it. We stay clear of the rotting infection that grows inside your mind. The ripe space for commodification that lies behind your eyes. There’s no choice when the trade is freedom, they’re lining up to buy. The market price for your subjugation, a bargain for your life. Don’t buy it, it’s a game. You’re flying through the flames. We stand tall as an aberration. There’s no way you’re gonna bury this mountain.
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
