lyrics
Fire. The Sky. The island jungle night. I see the stars, I wonder where I am. I look at the clouds, I wonder where I’m from. I look at my hands. I see the trees, I see the moon above. I lay awake, do i travel alone? Run through the night, my eyes adjust. Roots underfoot, my gait adjust. The sea eats away the shore, the body earth adjust. The gait of moonlight, the stars above. Fire. The mind. The diamond body; the golden stove. The concert and the conflict. I hear the surf, I hear the cricket song. Do I travel alone? -- Or is they other I?
We dance together in the jungle night, the fire burning bright. Our faces so alien… half blood red, half midnight sky. All nightmares are just dreams: the edge of mother’s arms, or others’ fear. Through pain and strife, we adjust. Grass underfoot, our gait adjust. The surf eats away the shore, the body earth adjust. This burning light: the stars above.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
